Lateral straw chopper
– safety equipment
With certain models of picker and series clear-
ances, it is possible that the chopper blade runs to
the right or left (even to the right and left) of the out-
side enclosure of the picker.
A special protection protects contact with the fast-
rotating chopper blade.
Ensure that the safety equipment is complete and
undamaged.
When the drive is activated and the motor is
running, maintain sufficient clearance to the
chopper blades.
Caution: Blade over-travel for two minutes.
Clean the air filter
and other
sensitive
parts on a daily basis
Development of dust
It is impossible to prevent the development of a cer-
tain layer of dust with horizontal action choppers
working in close proximity to the ground.
Depending on its quality, cut material thrown about
in the air can hinder some of the functions of the
harvester.
It is therefore important to subject air filters and
other sensitive parts (hydraulic cylinder pistons etc.)
to regular cleaning.
