button is pressed. This button’s red LED blinks when any

Channel IRR Functions (Models 4018 & 4118 Only)
The Models 4018 and 4118 consoles support the Channel Instant Recall Recorder feature.
This feature is only available with the Universal Dual Channel Card (950-9819 or 950-
9820). There are two versions of each of the following functions. The Instant function acts
on a specified channel. The System function acts on the channel that is currently selected.
However, if more than one channel is selected, the function is ignored by the console.
Play / Pause
This button starts IRR playback at the current playback message pointer if the IRR is
stopped or paused. It stops IRR playback and enters Pause mode if the IRR is playing.
When the IRR is playing, it automatically enters the Pause mode when a Call is received
or any Transmit occurs on the channel so that IRR can record the activity. When recording
is over, playback resumes in the message when the operator presses Play. If the record
activity over-wrote the paused message, the Pause mode is cancelled and IRR switches to
Stop mode.
During playback, unless interrupted, only one message is played and then the IRR
automatically enters the Pause mode. The button must be pressed again to play the next
message. When the last (newest) message has been played, the Playback/Pause modes is
canceled and the IRR is idle.
To help distinguish between recorded and live audio, a short, distinctive beep precedes
each IRR playback and a different beep is heard when the IRR playback is stopped.
The playback message pointer is initially set to the beginning of the most recently
recorded message and can be manipulated with the REWIND and RESET functions.
The console ignores this button if another position has already invoked this channel’s IRR
Playback or Pause function. This button also has no effect if the Channel Card has no IRR
capability or if nothing has yet been recorded.
The IRR playback audio is only sent to the console position that initiated it, and is not
heard at any other position.
