ZENNER CO2
INDICATOR is a compact indoor LoRaWAN® wireless sensor
for CO
2
levels. This product uses photo acoustic principle to detect CO
2
concentration (ppm) in real time and thus enables more efficient ventilation
behavior and faster response time. The device is powered by a rechargeable
battery and is designed to be placed on any flat surface. With the integrated
display and LED indicator, the sensor always informs in real time about the
current CO
2
level, the battery level and the LoRaWAN® connection status. The
CO
2
threshold values can be set individually via radio command (downlink).

Notice:
There is no 5V power supply included. For this purpose, you can use a
commercially available smartphone USB-A power adapter, for example.
Commissioning
After taking the sensor out of the packaging, you can remove the protective
foils on the display and on the back. By pressing the power button for a
longer time, the device turns on and automatically connects to the available
LoRaWAN® network.
Notice:
Before powering on, please make sure you have registered the device to
your desired IoT platform and verify that there is sufficient LoRaWAN®
connectivity before connecting the device.
If you are using the ZENNER B.One Middleware, your device has already
been automatically registered and can be used immediately after activa
-
tion.
Radio signal strength indicator
Similar to a smartphone, this symbol shows the radio signal strength. In
case all 4 parts of the symbol are minimal, there is currently not network
available. If the symbol is not visible at all, the device has not been connec
-
ted with a LoRaWAN® network or the network settings were reset. If the 4
parts of the symbol are animated (showing up from left to right), the device
is currently carrying out a network search.
Charging
Use the included USB cable and connect the USB-A port to a 5V power
adapter, which you plug into a power outlet. Now connect the USB-C port
to the USB-C charging port on the back of the device to start the charging
process.
Make sure that the ambient temperature does not exceed 40°C during the
charging process.
Mounting and Placement
The device can be placed on any straight surface. The rubberized bottom of
the housing ensures a secure and non-slip grip.
Make sure that you do not cover the ventilation slots on the back.
Be careful not to exhale head-on to the product, as the increased CO
2
content of the exhaled air will cause the sensor’s readings to not match the
ambient air.
