Information about the thickness of the light sheet

with the selected zoom is available when pressing
the

Advanced..

button. A graphical display

(Fig. 73) informs you about the thickness in the
center and the border of the created light sheet in

m within the field of view. To manually change

the thickness of the

Center Thickness

use either

the slider, enter a value into the box, or use the

arrows.
Be aware, this will change the ratio of the light

sheet thickness center to border of the image
frame. If you decrease the

Center Thickness

, the

ratio center to border will be 1: >2; so the light

sheet will be thinner in the center but wider at the
border of the image field (Fig. 75). If you increase
the

Center Thickness

, the ratio will change to

<1:2 accordingly, so the light sheet will have a

more homogeneous thickness in the image field
(Fig. 74).

To return to the ideal light sheet thickness
ratio, use the

Zoom

slider in the

Acquisition Mode

tool window.

Be aware that the Zoom and the Center Thickness
settings are influencing the dimensions of the light

sheet overall. The ratio or the thickness in the
center of the light sheet and at its border should

be ideally 1:2 for the used frame.

The

Select by Region

button opens an additional

window displaying a live image of the sample.
A square region is defined within the frame with

red (y-axis) and green (x- axis) markings. The region
can be enlarged along these axis by dragging the

according side with the mouse. But the square
cannot be moved to an offset within the image.
Within the chosen sub-frame, the optimal light

sheet thickness ratio of the center to the border of
1:2 is created. The thickness of the light sheet at

the center of the chosen square is displayed next
to the

Lightsheet Center Thickness

slider within

the input box.
