Manual switching to the backup lamp
The xenon light source has a lamp module containing two xenon lamps.
The second lamp is used as backup lamp. Manually swivel in the backup
lamp (Page 218) if it is used beyond its maximum service life of 500h (see
also chapter "Maintenance intervals" on Pa ge 222) or if the the first lamp
fails.
If the backup lamp is operated, keep a new lamp module ready for ex-
change (Page 226).

Indicator: Backup lamp is in use
If the red segment (4) in the button (3) is lit, the backup lamp is operated.

Opening the lamp module
When you press this button, the lamp module is partially ejected.

Brightness control
If the light source is switched on, the brightness can be continuously set
by turning the brightness control of the fiber illumination:

CAUTION

Limited service life of the xenon lamp!

If used longer than the indicated service life of 500 hours the xenon lamp
may fail or burst.
Dropping fragments may contaminate the sterile area. Risk of infection.

• Manually swivel in the backup lamp (Page 218) or replace the lamp mod-

ule in a timely manner (see Pa ge 226).
