System maintenance
Maintenance intervals
Regular preventive maintenance is required to ensure safe and correct opera-
tion and a long service life of the system on an ongoing basis.
The following table lists the relevant maintenance activities and shows at
which maximum intervals they must be performed.
The corresponding procedures in order to perform maintenance activities on
your own can be found in the following descriptions.
Any other maintenance activities that are not described here in detail require
device-specific knowledge.
Please contact your local ZEISS Service or an authorized partner for per-
forming maintenance activities in due time.
Interval Maintenance tasks
Max. 12 weeks Exchange xenon lamp if it is operated for 8 hours/day on 5 days/week. This
corresponds to the service life of a xenon lamp of 500 h.
Max. 25 weeks Exchange xenon lamp if it is operated for 4 hours/day on 5 days/week. This
corresponds to the service life of a xenon lamp of 500 h.
Every 2 years Visual inspection and function test of the following modules:
– S100 suspension system
– Illumination and power supply unit
– Surgical microscope with tube
– Light guide
– Power cord
– Connected accessories
– Secure seating of OPMI suspension
– Securing screws are available and tightened
