Recommended safety distances between portable and mobile

RF communication equipment and the S100 / OPMI pico

The device S100 / OPMI pico is intended for use in an electromagnetic envi-
ronment in which RF disturbances are controlled. The customer or the user of
the device S100 / OPMI pico can help prevent electromagnetic interference by
maintaining a minimum distance between portable and mobile RF communi-
cation equipment (transmitters) and the S100 / OPMI pico - depending on the
output power of the communication equipment as specified below.

Rated power of the

transmitter [W]

Separation distance depending on transmission frequency [m]

For transmitters rated at a maximum output power not listed in the above table, the recommended separa-
tion distance d in meters (m) can be determined using the equation indicated for each column, with P being
the maximum output power rating of the transmitter in watts (W) according to the transmitter manufac-
turer's specifications.

NOTE 1

NOTE 2

At 80 MHz and 800 MHz, the higher frequency range applies.

These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic propagation is
influenced by absorption and reflection by structures, objects and persons.
