Running the Encode Demo 

 

This section gives step-by-step instructions on taking the Z3-DM816X-VI-RPS and using it to stream 1080p or 
1080i video to VLC running on your PC.  In addition to the Z3-DM816X-VI-RPS, an HD source with HDMI 
output and a PC are required. 
 

5.1  Set up the HD Source 

 

(1) Select an HD source with HDMI non-HDCP output (in Z3’s testing, the Brite-View BV-5005HD is used). 
 

-Power on the HD Source  

 

-Connect HDMI to a monitor 

 

-Set the HD Source to 1080i output 

 

-Select content you would like to stream 

 
      If you see playback on the monitor, you’ve confirmed the source works.   
 

 

5.2  Connect the Board 

 

For these steps, please refer to
