User Setup
This dialog box (
Figure 7-26
and
Figure 7-27
) shows the current system configuration and allows
you to make changes to the settings. There are three “pages”:
Basic Settings
,
Profiling Range
,
and
Advanced Settings
.
The
User Setup
dialog box looks and functions a little different based on the mode of operation.

shows the layout before/during real-time data collection.

shows the lay-
out during post-processing. The primary differences between the two layouts are:
•
Prior to data acquisition, additional functions related to configuring the system are available
(e.g., compass calibration, setting system clock).
•
Prior to data collection, all fields may be edited. During data collection and post-processing,
only magnetic declination and transducer depth may be changed. To change other data col-
lection parameters, the data collection process must first be stopped.

. A brief description of each
User Setup
parameter is given below. Additionally,
you can click on a parameter’s field name (displayed in blue) for an on-line help description.

Basic Settings
page:

File Name Prefix

– Used to determine the base file name
used to record data (§

Averaging Interval
in seconds (§

Water Salinity
in parts per thousand (§

). To change any parameter used in the calcu-
lation of speed of sound (salinity and temperature) during post-processing, use the

). Select
Manual

a pressure sensor is installed). This parameter can be modified during post-processing.
