Proper Frame Size 

For safe and comfortable riding there should be a clearance of at least 1-3 inches between the crotch 
of the intended rider and the top tube of the bicycle frame, while the rider straddles the bicycle with both 
feet flat on the ground. If there is less than 1-3 inches clearance, the bicycle is too large for the rider

Rider leg should be only slightly bent when pedal is closest to ground, the ball of the foot 
is on the pedal, and rider is sitting on the seat.
