2.2.3 Connecting Special Cable
The special cable is wired between terminal box and pH converter. This special cable of specified
length is supplied with the terminal box. Furthermore, to protect the cable at conduit, detach the
packing gland from cable gland (pH converter cable inlet hole) which is mounted in supplied
cable gland (terminal box cable inlet hole) and special cable, and mount the adapter (specially
supplied) instead. The special cable connection to the terminal box is created as follows:
(1) Mount the special cable in the supplied cable gland.
After disassembling the cable gland, pass the cable through packing gland (or adapter),
cable clamp, packing, main body and gasket in order. The nut is mounted after pulling the
cable through it. Furthermore, use heat shrink tube around the cable gland after mounting it.
(2) Pull the cable inside. Then after pulling cable through the nut, connect the cable core wires
to the appropriate terminals.
(3) Mount the cable gland on the cable inlet hole.
Place the nut in place, then screw it into the main body sufficiently. After fixing the main
body, mount packing gland or adapter tightly to prevent moisture entering.
(4) Mount the front cover of terminal box. Be sure to screw up the mounting screw sufficiently.
(5) When protecting the cable in conduit, screw the adapter in the union connecting place of
conduit.
