          6.1 Before Each Use (continued)

•  Ensure that all markings are present on N-621, N623 and N250G carabiner. If markings are damaged or illegible, remove unit from

service and mark for destruction.

•  All other components of the fall protection system attached to and used in conjunction with the N-621, N-623 should be inspected as

per manufacturer’s instruction, and be compatible. Record inspection results and keep on file.

•  Inspect the fixed ladder system as per manufacturer’s instructions.  DO NOT CLIMB a structure where there is doubt concerning its

integrity.

•  If in doubt about safety or condition of the N621, N623 or any other fall protection equipment to be used, immediately have it

inspected by a trained competent/qualified person. In the case of N-621, N-623 it may be returned YOKE or authorized agent for a

detailed inspection.

          6.2 Annual Inspection

An annual or more frequent inspection depending on usage must be performed by a trained and competent person other than the user. A

written record of this inspection and approval for continued use should be kept in company records.

          6.3 Maintenance

      •

Clean N-621, N-623 with water and mild soap. Wipe off with clean dry cloth. Low pressure compressed air may be used.

         •

Lubricate with light oil such as WD-40. Use a small amount of oil on pivot points. ENSURE THAT OIL IS NOT PLACED ON BRAKING

PADS OF N-621, N-623. ANY LUBRICANT ON BRAKING PAD MUST BE THOROUGLY REMOVED IN ORDER TO ENSURE PROPER AND

SAFE FUNCTION OF CABLE GRAB.

7. INSTALLATION AND USE

          7.1 Insatllation N621, N623 Model Cable Grabs

WARNING –  THE N-621, N-623 MUST ONLY BE USED ON A VERTICAL CABLE SYSTEM THAT IS PART OF A FIXED LADDER

OR SIMILAR CLIMBING SYSTEM

Ensure that the N-621, N-623 is properly positioned relative to the carrier cable (UP arrow on cable grab must be pointing in the ascending

direction).

Remove the N-250G from the attachment point of the cable grab and open the brake lever to its fully upright position. This action will pull back the

braking pads and allow for insertion of the cable into the cable installation slot on the cable grab. The design of N-621, N-623 does not allow for

the cable grab to be either installed or removed to a vertical cable cable ladder system when the N250G is installed on the attachment point of

N-621, N-623.

Rotate the N-621, N-623 perpendicular to the vertical cable and position the cable grab so that the cable slides all the way into the cable

installation slot on the cable grab.

Rotate the N-621, N-623 back to vertical position (with UP arrow pointing in the ascending direction).

Release the handle – the braking pads of the cable grab should now engage the cable. Re-attach the N-250G carabiner to the attachment point on

the cable grab.

Only connect the N-621, N-623 to the STERNAL d-ring attachment of the user’s full body harness using N-250G carabiner. Ensure that the

carabiner is fully closed and locked. THE MAXIMUM DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CARRIER CABLE AND THE HARNESS MUST NOT EXCEED 9”

(225 MM). Connection of the N-621, N-623 to the full body harness must only be conducted after cable grab has been properly attached to the

vertical cable and when risks of a fall during attachment have been eliminated.

When ascending, climb up the ladder in normally as per ladder system manufacturer’s instructions.  The N-621, N-623 will follow the climber.  Use

caution when climbing and avoid carrying items that will impede your hands from climbing safely.

To descend, climb down normally as per ladder system manufacturer’s instructions.  Climbing down while leaning back excessively will restrict

proper movement of N-621, N-623.
