DESCALING
DESCALING THE ESPRESSO COFFEE MAKER
We recommend descaling the machine periodically to keep it in good working
condition.
1. To ensure your espresso machine can operate efficiently, internal piping is clean
and the peak flavor of coffee, you should clean away the mineral deposits left every
1-2 months.
2. Fill the tank with water and descaler to the MAX level (the proportion of water and
descaler is 4:1, details refers
to the instruction of descaler). Please use “household
descaler”, you can use the citric acid instead of the descaler (one hundred parts of
water and three parts of citric acid).
3. Insert the porta-filter (with filter and no coffee).
4. Plug the power cord into the electrical outlet, press the
button and wait
until the heating indicator
will stop flashing.
5. Place regular cup on the drip tray. Press the
button.The descaler will
start flowing through the unit. Let about 250 ml of descaler come out, then press the
button again.
6. Place regular cup under the steam tube. Press the
button and wait until the
heating indicator
will stop flashing. Slowly turn the steam knob to the left and
make steam for 2 min, then turn the steam knob to off position. Press the button
again.
7. Repeat steps 5-6 at least 3 times.
8. Rinse the water reservoir and then fill it with fresh water to the MAX level. Repeat
steps 5-6 (without descaler) at least 3 times, to rinse the descaler out of the machine.
