2.2
Answering a call
You can answer a call by lifting the receiver from the hook or pressing the speaker button.
When using a headset, you can press the headset button, or remove the headset from its
charging cradle, or press the button on one of the ‘ears’.
2.3
Ending a call
To end a call, you can either simply replace the receiver or use the <EndCall> button
(softkey at the bottom of the screen). When phoning via the speaker, you can press the
speaker button to end the call. When using a headset, you either press the headset button or
the button on one of the ‘ears’.

Adjusting the volume
You can use the volume button on the device to adjust the volume of the:
Receiver
Headset
Speaker
Ringtone

Actions during a call
2.5.1 On hold:
A call can be put in and out of ‘hold’ by using the <Hold> button (softkey at the bottom of the
screen) and then the <Resume> button to resume the call.
2.5.2 Mute
To ‘mute’ a call means that the microphone of the device will be deactivated. Thus, the other
party can no longer hear you, but you can hear them. No music is played while on hold. This
mode can be activated by pressing the Mute button (it will light up red) and press it again to
deactivate it.
2.5.3 Transferring
Blind transfer:
o
During an active call, press the <Transfer> button (softkey at the bottom of the
screen). The other party is now ‘on hold’ and will hear the hold music.
o
Enter the number and press the <Transfer> button again.
o
The call will be transferred immediately.
o
You can use the ‘Transfer’ option when using HIPIN. You will see it by right-
clicking the name of a colleague or number in your address book.
Consult (before transfer):
o
During an active call, press the <Transfer> button (softkey at the bottom of the
screen). The other party is now ‘on hold’ and hears the hold music.
o
Enter the number to which you are considering transferring the call, and press #.
o
The number will be dialled and you can now consult that person on whether to
transfer the call. The other party will still be hearing the hold music during this time.
o
Press the <Transfer> button again to transfer the call.
o
You can use the ‘Consult’ option when using HIPIN. You will see it by right-clicking
the name of a colleague or number in your address book.
