Voicemail Users Guide Overview
- this guide is intended to help customers navigate the
SkyTalk Plus voicemail system. As you work with the system, you will notice that it is adaptive
in the sense that it will adjust options as necessary to allow users to manage the system. For
example, if you recently deleted a message the menu will adjust to allow you to undelete the
message. These adaptation options are especially evident under Option 1 - Listening to and
Managing New Messages, below.
Therefore, as you navigate the guide below remember that some options may be slightly
different depending upon recent actions you have taken within the system. If at any time you
want to leave the voicemail system, press the # key.
Flowchart Note
: Appendix A of this document contains a one-page flow chart showing the
typical voicemail options. If you have experience with the voicemail system please refer to
Appendix A (page 4) for a quick graphic representation of voicemail navigation options.
Note
: Because the system adapts to decisions you make, the best way to become familiar with
the voicemail system is to enter and try all the options. You should also practice logging into
the voicemail from within the network and remotely, from an outside line or mobile device
Logging into the VoiceMail System
How to check your voicemail from a SkyTalk Plus phone within the network.
Press the Messages Button on your phone, or dial *(star) - your extension and the pound (#)
sign. Your default password is normally your extension. You can change the password by
accessing the Mailbox Option, option 5 - see mailbox options below. If your default extension
password does not work please check with your system administrator to determine your default
password.
Checking Voicemail Remotely - Outside the Corporate Network
1.
Call your main corporate number.
2.
As soon as you reach the auto attendant press the # key. If the # key does not work
please check with your network administrator for the voicemail access key.
3.
When you hear the prompt enter your password - which will normally be your extension.
4.
The voicemail options will then be the same as when you access your voicemail directly
from inside the network.
Note
: When you have an existing message(s) in your voicemail a red alert light will flash on
the phone. When you enter your voicemail the system will alert you to the number of new
messages waiting.
