2. Slide the projection toward the rear

of the vehicle to unhook the cowl-
ing, then set the left side of the
cowling down on the ground.

3. Start the engine, warm it up for

several minutes, and then turn it
off.

4. Place an oil pan under the engine

to collect the used oil.

5. Remove the engine oil filler cap

with the special wrench.

6. Remove the engine oil drain bolt to

drain the oil from the crankcase.

NOTE:

Skip steps 7–9 if the oil filter cartridge is
not being replaced.

7. Remove the oil filter cartridge with

an oil filter wrench.
