3. Insert the wheel axle, and then in-
s tall the axle nut.
4. Take the motorcycle off the center-
stand so that the front wheel is on
the ground.
5. Tighten the axle nut to the speci-
fied torque.
TIP :
When tightening the axle nut, hold the
wheel axle with a wrench to keep it from
turning.
6. W hile applying the front brake,
pus h down hard on the handlebars
s everal times to check if the front
fork compresses and rebounds
smoothly.
7. Connect the speedometer cable.
Rear wheel
T o remove the rear wheel
WARNING
To avoid injury, securely support
the vehicle so there is no danger
of it falling over.
1. Loosen the axle nut.
2. Loosen the locknut and the drive
chain slack adjusting nut on both
ends of the swingarm.
3. Loosen the brake torque rod nut
at the brake shoe plate.

Axle nut:
40 Nm (4.0 m·kgf, 29 ft ·lbf)
1. Axle nut and washer
2. Drive chain adjusting nut
3. Locknut drive chain adjusting nut
4. Brake torque rod nut
