Oil level warnin g li g ht “ ”
This warning light comes on when the
engine oil level is low. To prevent en-
gine damage, replenish the engine oil
as soon as possible.
Even if the oil level is sufficient, the
warning light may flicker when riding
on a slope or during sudden accelera-
tion or deceleration, but this is not a
malfunction. If a problem is detected in
the oil level detection circuit, the oil lev-
el warning light will flash repeatedly. If
this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer
check the vehicle.
TIP
When the vehicle is turned on, the light
will come on for a few seconds and
then go off. If the light does not come
on, or if the light remains on after con-
firming that the oil level is correct (see
page 7-10), have a Yamaha dealer
check the vehicle.

Cruise control in d icator li g hts “ ”
an d “SET”
These indicator lights come on when
the cruise control system is activated.
(See page 4-4.)
TIP
When the vehicle is turned on, these
lights should come on for a few sec-
onds and then go off. If the lights do
not come on, have a Yamaha dealer
check the vehicle.

This warning light comes on or flashes
if a problem is detected in the engine.
If this occurs, have a Yamaha dealer
check the self-diagnosis system. (See
page 4-20.)
TIP

When the vehicle is turned on, this
light should come on for a few
seconds and then go off. Other-
wise, have a Yamaha dealer check
the electrical circuit.

The engine trouble warning light
will come on while the start switch
is pushed, but this does not indi-
cate a malfunction.

ABS warnin g li g ht “ ”
In normal operation, the ABS warning
light comes on when the vehicle is
turned on, and goes off after traveling
at a speed of 10 km/h (6 mi/h) or high-
er.
If the ABS warning light:

does not come on when the vehi-
cle is turned on

comes on or flashes while riding

does not go off after traveling at a
speed of 10 km/h (6 mi/h) or high-
er
The ABS may not work correctly. If any
of the above occurs, have a Yamaha
dealer check the system as soon as
possible. (See page 4-25 for an expla-
nation of the ABS.)
