Problems with USB DAC
This product is not recognized by the PC

The product is connected to a PC that is running an OS that is not guaranteed to work with it.
Connect the product to a PC that is running an OS that is guaranteed to work with it.

The USB cable is not connected correctly.
Plug the USB cable back in correctly.

The dedicated “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” is not installed (Windows only).
Install “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver”. For more details, refer to the following.

USB DAC stops working normally

This product is connected to your PC via a USB hub.
Connect the product to your PC directly without using a USB hub.
(
USB DAC does not work normally due to USB version compatibility or other effects.
Connect the USB cable to another port of your PC and check whether USB DAC is back to normal.
Furthermore, try connecting to a USB 2.0 port.
There is noise or interruption when playing music files on the PC
(
Another application on the PC was started while it was playing a music file.
The audio may be interrupted or have noise when you start another application on your PC while playing
a music file. Do not start other applications while playing a music file.

Setting for the buffer size of the dedicated “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” is incorrect (Windows
with ASIO compatible software only).
Try the following steps to change “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” setting, and check whether the sound
improves.

Open the Control Panel of “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver”.

Select “ASIO” tab and increase the value for “Buffer Size”.

Restart the music software on your PC.
Cannot play music files that are on the computer (no sound is output from this product)

The audio output of the PC and/or application is set to mute.
Cancel the mute setting on the PC and/or in the application.

The dedicated “Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver” settings were changed.
Restart the music software on your PC.

The USB connection was cut off while playing a music file.
Turn this product OFF and then turn it ON. After that, restart the music software on your PC and play
music files.
