Drive chain slack check

Inspect the drive chain while all tires are
touching the ground. Check the slack at the
position shown in the figure. The normal verti-
cal deflection is approximately 27 ~ 37 mm
(1.1 ~ 1.5 in). If the deflection exceeds 37 mm
(1.5 in), adjust the chain slack.

1. Loosen the rear wheel hub upper and

lower nuts.

1. Upper wheel hub nut

2. Lower wheel hub nut

2. Loosen the adjusting bolt locknuts on

each side of the swingarm. To tighten the
drive chain, turn the adjusting bolts in di-
rection

a

. To loosen the drive chain, turn

the adjusting bolts in direction 

b

 and

push the wheels forward. Turn each ad-
justing bolt exactly the same amount to
maintain correct axle alignment.
