STARTER CLUTCH AND GEARS

1. Inspect :

• Starter clutch

Push the dowel pin to arrow direction.
Unsmooth operation

→

Replace starter clutch

assembly.

2. Inspect :

• Starter wheel gear teeth

• Idle gear teeth

Burrs/Chips/Roughness/Wear

→

Replace.

3. Inspect :

• Starter clutch operation

******************************************************
Clutch operation checking steps:
• Install the starter wheel gear to the starter

clutch, and hold the starter clutch.

• When turning the wheel gear counter-

clockwise A the starter clutch and the wheel
gear should be engaged.
If not the starter clutch is faulty. Replace it.

• When turning the wheel gear clockwise B, the

wheel gear should turn freely. If not, the starter
clutch is faulty. Replace it.
