ENGINE PREPARATION
With the key removed and the spark plug lead discon-
nected, turn the clutch by hand until compression is
felt. This puts the valves in the closed position.
CHASSIS PREPARATION
1.
Verify the tire pressure is set to 124 kPa,
1.26 kgf/cm
2
(18 psi).
2.
Clean exterior of the PTV and apply a rust in-
hibitor.
3.
Cover the PTV with a breathable cover and store
it in a dry, well-ventilated area.
DRAINING FUEL
Gasoline and its vapors are highly flammable and
explosive. Death or serious personal injury can re-
sult from failing to comply with the safety instruc-
tions in this manual.
•
Do not smoke when draining fuel and keep
away from sparks, flames, or other sources of
ignition.
•
Stop engine and allow it to cool for several min-
utes before draining fuel.
•
Drain fuel in a well-ventilated area.
•
Take care not to spill gasoline. If gasoline spills,
wipe it up immediately with dry rags.
Always dispose of gasoline-soaked rags prop-
erly.
•
Tighten the filler cap securely after checking
fuel level to avoid leaking.
•
If you inhale a lot of gasoline vapor, or get gas-
oline in your eyes, get immediate medical atten-
tion.
•
If any gasoline gets on your skin, immediately
wash with soap and water. Change clothing if
gasoline spills on it to avoid potential fire haz-
ard.
