• To assure the finest performance, please read this manual care-
fully. Keep it in a safe place for future reference.
• Due to the high sensitivity of the cartridge, do not drop it from a
high place or apply a strong shock to it.
• To maintain the sensitivity and quality of the sound reproducing,
avoid exposing it to moisture, dust, or extreme temperatures.
• Avoid placing this microphone in any of the following locations:
- Locations that are exposed to extremely high temperature (e.g.,
near a heater or inside a car), as they may cause damage to this
microphone, and/or personal injury.
- Locations that are exposed to water or close to containers with
liquid in them, as entering of liquid or foreign object into the
microphone may cause damage to this microphone.
• Keep this product out of the reach of children.
• Do not use force on the switch or cable of the microphone.
• When disconnecting the microphone cable, grasp the connector
and do not pull the cable.
• Since the microphone consists of precise parts, do not attempt to
modify or fix it. Contact qualified Yamaha service personnel when
any service is needed. Do not disassemble the microphone for any
reasons.
• Do not clean this unit with chemical solvents; this might damage

Connecting and Disconnecting the Microphone
Cable
• Before making the connection, make sure that the microphone and
the component (e.g., amplifier) are switched off.
• Insert the connector into the microphone socket. Align the key on
the connector with the groove in the microphone, and then push
the connector into the microphone until it clicks.
• Lower the volume of the component (e.g., amplifier) before con-
necting the microphone.
• To disconnect the cable from the microphone, pull the connector
away from the microphone while depressing the latch lock.

How to Use
• Set the switch to

when using the microphone, and set it to
OFF
when not in use.
• When using the microphone, do not cover any part of the grille with
your hand to ensure sound quality.

• In order to prevent howling:
- Lower the volume.
- Place this microphone so that it is not pointed to the speaker and
that there is a sufficient distance between the microphone and
the speaker.
- Do not cover the lower part of the grille with your hand.
• Positioning the microphone close to the sound source causes the
so-called proximity effect (a boost in the low-frequency response).
This phenomenon can be used to create a richer and warmer bass
sound.

Connexion et déconnexion du câble de micro-
phone
• Avant d’effectuer la connexion, assurez-vous que le microphone et
que l’appareil (par exemple l’ampli) sont éteints.
• Introduisez le connecteur dans la douille du microphone. Aligner
l’ergot du connecteur et la rainure du microphone, puis enfoncer le
connecteur dans le microphone jusqu’au déclic.
• Réduisez le volume du son de l’appareil (par exemple l’ampli)
avant de brancher le microphone.
• Pour débrancher le câble du microphone, enfoncez le taquet tout
en tirant sur le connecteur afin de le séparer du microphone.

- Réduisez le volume.
- Ne dirigez pas le microphone vers le haut-parleur et veillez à ce
que la distance entre le microphone et le haut-parleur soit suff-
isante.
- Ne couvrez pas de la main la partie inférieure de la grille.
• Le fait de disposer le microphone à proximité de la source de son
provoque ce qu’on appelle un effet de proximité, c.-à-d. une aug-
mentation de la réponse des basses fréquences. Ce phénomène

Mikrofonkabel anschließen und abtrennen
• Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Herstellung der Verbindung, dass
Mikrofon und Gerät (z.B. Verstärker) ausgeschaltet sind.
• Verbinden Sie den Mikrofonstecker mit der entsprechenden
Anschlussbuchse. Richten Sie die Steckernase auf die entsprech-
ende Nut im Mikrofon aus und drücken Sie dann den Stecker in
das Mikrofon, bis dieser einrastet.
• Reduzieren Sie die Lautstärke des Geräts (z.B. Verstärker), bevor
Sie das Mikrofon anschließen.
• Zum Abtrennen des Mikrofonkabels ziehen Sie den Stecker bei
gedrückter Verriegelung ab.

• Um Pfeifen zu vermeiden:
- Drehen Sie die Lautstärke ab.
- Richten Sie das Mikrofon vom Lautsprecher ab und halten Sie es
in einem ausreichenden Abstand davon entfernt.
- Verdecken Sie den unteren Bereich des Gitters nicht mit der
Hand.
• Wenn sich das Mikrofon zu dicht an der Klangquelle befindet, tritt
der Naheffekt (Überbetonung der tiefen Frequenzen) auf. Dieses
Phänomen kann zur Erzeugung eines reicheren, wärmeren Klangs
ausgenützt werden.

Connessione e scollegamento del cavo del

• Prima della connessione, assicurarsi che il microfono e il compo-
nente (es., amplificatore) siano spenti.
• Inserire il connettore nella presa del microfono. Allineare la tacca
sul connettore con la fessura nel microfono, poi premere il connet-
tore in modo che il lato di contatto sia guidato nella fessura finché

• Per evitare un effetto ululante:
- Abbassare il volume.
- Posizionare il microfono in modo che non sia puntato verso il par-
lante e che vi sia distanza sufficiente tra il microfono e il parlante.
- Non coprire con le mani la parte inferiore della griglia.
• Collocare il microfono vicino alla fonte sonora provoca il cosiddetto
effetto di prossimità (un innalzamento della risposta alle basse fre-
quenze). Questo fenomeno può essere utilizzato per produrre un
suono dei bassi più ricco e caldo.
