ADJUSTING THE CLUTCH CABLE FREE PLAY

Total amount: 3.6 L
Without oil filter element 
replacement:

3.0 L

With oil filter element 
replacement: 3.1 L

9. Install:

• O-ring
• engine oil filter cap

10. Start the engine, warm it up for several min-

utes, and then turn it off.

11. Check:

• engine (for engine oil leaks)

12. Check:

• engine oil level

Refer to "CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL
LEVEL".

1. Check:

• clutch cable free play

Out of specification

Adjust.

2. Adjust:

• clutch cable free play

Handlebar side

a. Loosen the locknut

b. Turn the adjusting screw

in direction

or

until the specified clutch cable free play is

obtained.

c. Tighten the locknut.

NOTE:

If the specified clutch cable free play cannot be
obtained as described above, perform the mech-
anism adjustment procedure described below.
