CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY

Remove

Disconnect the negative battery cable at the bat-
tery.

Remove the alternator. See Electrical Equipment
Repair.

Remove the water pump. See Cooling System
Repair.

Disconnect the air intake hose from the intake
manifold.

Remove the glow plugs. See Glow PlugsRemove.

Remove the fuel injectors and high pressure lines.
See Fuel System Repair.

If equipped, remove the pull actuator and mount-
ing bracket. See Fuel System Repair.

Disconnect the electrical connector for the fuel fil-
ter sensor.

Tag and disconnect the fuel hoses from the fuel
filter.

Remove the bolts retaining the fuel filter housing
assembly to the intake manifold and remove the
fuel filter housing assembly. See Figure 14.
