FT-710 Technical Supplement
ALIGNMENT -3
RF AGC Adjustment
Press and hold in the [BAND], [QMB] and
[NAR] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
1. Rotate the [FUNC] knob to select the align
-
ment parameter “023 [RX] RF-AGC 7”.
2. Rotate the [STEP/MCH (DSP)] knob so that
the parameter indication “255”.
Perform the same procedures for the Alignment
parameter “024 [RX] RF-AGC 14” through “027
[RX] RF-AGC 50”.
IF AGC Adjustment
Connect the AF millivoltmeter and 4 Ohm
dummy load to the EXT SPKR jack.
Connect the RF Signal Generator to the ANT
jack, then set the output level to 40dBµV.
Adjust the [AF GAIN] knob so that the AF mil
-
livoltmeter reading is “0 dB”.
Set the RF Signal Generator output level to
10dBµV.
Press and hold in the [BAND], [QMB] and
[NAR] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
Select the appropriate “Alignment Parameter”
using the [FUNC] knob per the chart below,
then set the RF Signal Generator output to each
frequency & level, and adjust the [STEP/MCH
(DSP)] knob for the corresponding AF millivolt
-
meter reading at each frequency.

Set the following controls as indicated:
[IPO]: AMP1
[ATT]: OFF
[WIDTH]: 2.4kHz
Connect the RF Signal Generator to the ANT
jack, then set the frequency to 14.200MHz.
Press and hold in the [BAND], [QMB] and
[NAR] keys, while turning the radio ON, to en
-
ter the alignment mode.
Select the appropriate “Alignment Parame
-
ter”using the [FUNC] knob per the chart below,
then set the RF Signal Generator output to each
frequency & level, and adjust the [STEP/MCH
(DSP)] knob for the corresponding S-meter
reading at each frequency.
