3.0 MAINTENANCE
All maintenance jobs must be done with
the motor turned off and the tractive force
disconnected.
The electric motor (in the electrically operated
version) is the asynchronous, induction, single/
three-phase type. It requires no maintenance
as it is fitted with screened bearings lubricated
for life.
The reduction unit (in the cardan shaft
operated version) has its gears hardened and
casehardened in an oil bath. Therefore,
periodically or after extended breaks, it is
necessary to check the level of the oil
contained in the reduction unit. Use only oil
type SAE 90 EP.
1) Check the level of hydraulic oil by means
of the dipstick inserted in the filler pipe (12
Fig. 1). There is a notch on the dipstick
indicating the maximum level.
2) Periodically lubricate the mobile column
(2 Fig. 1) with grease.
3) Check periodically that the sliding guides
on the fixed column are not damaged. If
necessary have them replaced by
authorised and qualified personnel.
4) Periodically check the pipes of the
hydraulic system; if they are worn or broken
have them replaced by specialised and
authorised personnel.
5) After the first 25-30 working hours replace
the hydraulic oil contained in the tank;
thereafter, every 100 hours (use oil: Esso
Invarol EP46 or compatible), proceeding as
follows:
Remove the plug (1 Fig. 9) and drain off all
the oil contained in the tank, keeping the
machine slightly raised. After draining,
screw the plug back on fully. Fill the tank
up to the level, screw the plug with the
dipstick back on and carry out a few
manoeuvres after which check and top up
if necessary.
During this operation it is also advisable to
clean the filter (21 Fig. 1). To do this
unscrew the two screws that are securing
it to the tank and clean the filter with a
solvent, like petrol or some similar product.
When it is clean, reassemble proceeding
in the opposite order.
6) Periodically check tightness of all the
fixing screws and nuts.
7) For Model with cardan shaft connection and
overgear periodically check the oil level.
To this regard, proceed as follows:
Check the oil by means of the transparent
oil level cap located on the side of the
overgear. Any topping up should be done
through the cap located at the top. It is
recommended to replace the oil of the
overgear every 800 working hours; this
should in any case be done by specialised
and authorised personnel.
Observe the ecological recommendations
required in the country of use concerning
the disposal of waste oil.
3.0.1 CLEANING
After using the wood-cutter and foreseeing an
extended break, it is good practice to clean it
thoroughly, place it in a dry place and cover it
with a cloth.
4.0 SPARE PARTS
In the event of breakage and replacing with
spare parts, call the Manufacturer directly.
