Updating HHD Note Codes does not affect Vehicle Protocol Note Codes. If changes are
made to HHD Notes, they will not affect Vehicle Protocol Note Codes.
Vehicle Device Parameters
Individual device parameters for Vehicle Transceiver Units (VXUs) can be set or changed
on the
Device Control
screen in the Vehicle protocol. This screen can be accessed by
clicking the specific device number in the Tree View on the left side of the screen, or by
double clicking the desired device in the list of devices on the
Polling Devices
screen. As in
Handheld protocol, changes can only be made when there are no routes or meters loaded
to the device being viewed.
•
Delete Route File after Retrieve
: This setting causes AutoVu to delete the route file
from the route disk after the meter reader retrieves the route into AutoVu. This setting is
available for two reasons: it helps conserve disk space when using 3 ½" floppy disks,
and also prevents the meter reader from inadvertently re-retrieving the route and thus
losing any collected readings from the VXU. In most cases, it is not necessary to use this
setting.
•
Increment Read Count on Notecodes
: This setting will allow note code entries to
count as readings on the read counter in AutoVu and AutoRead. It also will cause the
software to consider a meter with a note entry as a read meter, even though no meter
reading was taken.
•
Increment Read Count on High/Low Violations
: This setting causes AutoVu to
automatically "accept" readings that are not within the expected read range set by billing.
In most cases, this setting should be used (checked) if readings that are higher or lower
than expected are desired by the utility. If this setting is not checked, the meter reader
will have to manually "accept" the High and Low readings in the AutoVu application, and
the reading counter will not reflect the High and Low readings in the Read Counter.
•
Automatically Export on Exit
: This setting determines whether or not the AutoVu
software will automatically prompt the meter reader to save the readings when they close
the software. It is recommended that this setting be left checked.
•
Beep on Interrogate
: This setting will cause the AutoVu software to beep each time an
interrogation (or wakeup) message is transmitted by the Vehicle Transceiver Unit (VXU).
•
Beep on Warnings
: When enabled, will cause the AutoVu software to beep each time a
warning message is encountered for a meter.
•
Beep on High/Low Violations
: This will cause the AutoVu software to beep each time a
reading that is not within the High/Low limits specified by the billing software is collected
by the VXU.
