4. Use
Using the fall arrest device in accordance with
EN 360:
• Before and during use of the fall arrest
device, consider how help can be safely
and efficiently provided in the event of a
fall.
• Always read the label on the fall arrest
device and refer to chapter 10 “Fall arrest
device labeling.”
• Do not use handles, etc. to anchor the fall
arrest device.
• If the fall arrest device is used as part of
a fall protection system, the user must
use equipment that limits the maximum
dynamic force on the body in the event
of a fall to 6 kN. A fall absorber can be
installed for this.
• Do not use in temperatures below -40 o C/

XStop fall arrest device
The XStop is available in several versions. The
versions that include a strap can be used for
vertical applications. These are:
• 16310 - XStop mini one
• 16315 - XStop mini one XL
• 16320 - XStop mini two
• 16325 - XStop mini two XL
The versions that include a wire rope can be
used for horizontal and vertical applications.
These are:
• 16330 - XStop midi 5
• 16335 - XStop midi 10
• 16340 - XStop maxi 15
• 16345 - XStop maxi 20
• 16350 - XStop maxi 25
5. Instructions
• Attach carabiner hook 1 to the suspension
point on your harness. Carabiner hook 1 is
the hook on the side of the fall absorber,
or the cable side of the fall arrest device.
• Attach carabiner hook 2 to the connection
point.
• Never attach more than 1 carabiner hook
to an anchor point unless otherwise
specified.
• Do not modify the equipment
6. Materials
The fall arrest device is manufactured from
metal and the anchor lines are produced in syn-
thetic fiber or steel in accordance with EN 354
section 4.2.2 & 4.2.3.
The exact materials used are indicated on the
equipment label.
7. Limitations of use
Temperature
Do not use the fall arrest devices in environ-
ments with temperatures above 85
o
C (185
o
F).
Protect the equipment when used for welding,
cutting or other heat-producing activities.
Sparks can damage the structure of the anchor
line and reduce its strength.
Chemical substances
Acidic, caustic, and other resinous environ-
ments can damage parts of the fall arrest
device.
Corrosion
Do not expose the fall arrest device to cor-
rosive environments for extended periods.
Organic materials and salt water in particular
will cause metal components to corrode. If the
fall arrest device is regularly used in a corrosive
environment, more frequent inspections,
cleaning, and drying is required.
Electrical hazards
Exercise extra care when using the mobile
fall arrest device and flexible anchor line near
electric current sources.
Metal components of the mobile fall arrest
device for flexible anchor lines are electrically
conductive. Maintain a safe distance of at
least 3 meters (9.8 feet) from electric power
sources.
ATTenTIOn
After a fall-protection system has
arrested a fall, all components of
the system must be removed from
service and sent to the supplier or
manufacturer for inspection with
a note stating that the system has
arrested an actual fall.
