Installation Instructions
Lock Bars:
Install lock bars and PVC inserts first before installing brackets to the vehicle. Check your pole butt diameter before installing
PVC inserts. Some poles butts are large and will not fit with insert. To install PVC inserts, wet with a bit of soapy water then insert
into the X-Rocket. Install lock bars on part XR-RH-S-D and part XR-RH-S-P so locks are on hood side of bracket. Install Add On
Bracket lock bars so lock is on the bottom. Lock bars should be snug enough to move them but remain in place and don't move
freely. Use 5/16” x ¾” bolt with one washer between lock bar and bracket and one before lock nut. Use any padlock with up to
5/16” shackle or use a carabiner to keep poles in place while driving (not included).
Single rod holder:
For Driver side install, use part XR-RH-S-D. Rod Holder should be away from the hood and facing the rear of the vehicle. Place
a protective cloth down on hood and fender to protect from accidental scratches while installing. Using the IP30 tool in the
Bronco tool kit, remove the male screws on the outer side of the trail sights and save. The female screws will be used with the
new hardware provided.
Line up the XR-RH-S-D Bracket to the holes and attach to existing female IP30 nut with provided M6 socket screw with flat
washer and lock washer (lock washer is at head of screw, flat washer touches the bracket). Tighten both screws. Repeat this
step for Passenger side with part XR-RH-S-P. When Add-on Brackets are installed, hood can still be accessed by removing pole
on passenger side closest to hood or lifting pole up and turning handle away from hood. Brackets will not need to be removed.
Add-On X-Rocket (dual rod):
To install Add-On Rod holder part XR-RH-AD-S-D to driver side X-Rocket or part XR-RH-AD-S-P to passenger side X-Rocket
line up Add-On bracket holes to X-Rocket bracket and secure with 2- 5/16” x1” screws and lock nut. Add washer to side with lock
nut. When X-Rocket Brackets are installed, hood can still be accessed by removing pole on passenger side closest to hood or
lifting pole up and turning handle away from hood. Brackets will not need to be removed.
Note:
For highway driving, we recommend use of Nite Ize® Gear tie or short bungee cord to limit movement (not included). When
securing poles with ties, make sure poles are tucked closer to vehicle and not protruding past widest part of your vehicle which
may be mirrors or tires.
