This tool may only be installed or used by individuals that are familiar with the tool as well as
the information and instructions found within this operation manual.
•
Children are not allowed to use the tool and must be always supervised to ensure that they do
not play with it.
•
Do not modify the tool. Unauthorised modifications can impair the safety, functionality, and ser-
vice life of the tool.
•
Always use tools appropriate for the task at hand. Further ensure to only use tools for the pur-
pose they are intended for and at a speed that corresponds to their specifications.
Workplace safety
•
Always make sure to keep your work area dry, clean, and well-lit. Wet, cluttered or insufficiently
lit work areas increase the risk of accidents.
•
Ensure that your work area offers enough space to grant a sufficiently safe distance from cutting
tools.
•
Keep bystanders out of the work area while using the tool as distractions may lead to careless-
ness and cause severe injuries.
Personal safety
•
Always stay vigilant while using this tool and do not use it, if you are exhausted, tired, or under
the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medicine.
•
Do not wear lose clothes or accessories that may be gripped by moving parts. Tie long hair up
or cover it with a snood-type cap to avoid severe injuries.
•
Always wear appropriate safety equipment consisting of work gloves and non-skid safety shoes
when working with this tool. It is further advised to wear a safety helmet, ear protection as well
as authorised safety goggles, if saws and other tools are going to be used.
•
Do not overestimate yourself and do not take unnecessary risks. Always make sure to have a
secure foothold.
Safety during application and care
•
Do not force the tool. Tools are safer and more efficient, if they are being used for their intended
purposes and according to their specifications.
•
Check the tool for damage or possible signs of wear before every use. Make thereby sure that
the tool functions properly and can serve its purpose.
•
Do not use the device, if it should be damaged. Make sure to replace damaged parts with com-
ponents of equal quality before using the device again.
•
Always make sure that the safety devices of the tool are in pristine condition and do not use it,
if its safety devices are not or only partially functional.
•
When not in use, store the tool in a safe and dry location that is inaccessible to children.
•
Only use suitable accessories authorised by the manufacturer and spare parts of equal quality.
•
The load capacitance of the tool must not be exceeded.
•
When lifting trunks, make sure not to move body parts beneath the log.
•
When accessories, such as hooks or rings, are going to be used, it must be ensured that the
accessories are compatible with the logging claw in terms of kind, grade, and size.
•
Only use light metal chains or wire ropes and accessories intended for overhead lifting.
Maintenance
Always keep the tool well maintained. It is advised to check the conditions of a tool before and to clean
it after its usage. Keep the logging claw in pristine condition by keeping it clean, dry and free from dirt,
oil and grease.
