3. In the Air Assist area, do one of the following.
• To create a new profile, select
New

• To modify an existing air assist profile, select a named profile, then select
Edit

4. In the Air Assist Setup window, select
VCF Settings
.
5. In the VCF Settings window, you can adjust the settings for each blower in the HCVF. Make
adjustments according to the recommended troubleshooting instructions only.

To reset blower settings to system defaults, select
Apply System Defaults
.

To test an adjustment, select
Test Print
. Before you save your changes, you can run a test
print.
6. To save the profile, select
OK
.
7. To return to the home screen, close the Profiles window.
Troubleshooting Misfeeds in the HCVF
When using the optional High Capacity XLS Vacuum Feeder (HCVF), the following fault codes indicate
a misfeed condition:
• 078–101, 078–131, 078–132, 078–151.
• 178–101, 178–131, 178–132, 178–151.

To resolve a misfeed, follow the steps in the appropriate section.
Note:
Before you make any adjustments, note the current settings for the Air Knife Blower, the
Rear Lead Blower, and the Front Blower. If you are instructed to change a blower setting to the
preset value, use the setting that you noted.
Misfeeds when using paper weight 177 g/m² or heavier
When using paper of weights 177 g/m² or heavier, misfeeds can occur.
1. Make the following blower adjustments:
• Air Knife Blower: No change.
• Rear Lead Blower: Increase the blower speed by two settings. For example, if the
blower speed is set at
5
, to increase the speed by two settings, change the setting to
7
.
• Front Blower: Increase the blower speed by two settings.
2. Run a test print. If no misfeed or multifeed occurs, the problem is resolved.
3. If a misfeed or multifeed occurs, for the Rear Lead Blower and Front Blower, do the
following:
• If a misfeed occurs, increase the blower speed by two settings.
• If a multifeed occurs, decrease the blower speed by one setting.
4. Run another test print. If the problem is not resolved, contact your Xerox representative.
