RAP 4.3: Ink Level Sensor
See Parts List 2.1
Use this RAP to test the Ink Level Sensor
assembly.
1. Check that all the ink cartridges
are at least half full and properly
seated.
Result: Tanks are at least half full
and properly seated.
No:
Correct the condition.
Yes:
Continue with Step 2.
2. Check the ribbon cable from
Connector CN10 on the main board
to the printer interface PWB. Make
sure it is not damaged or loose.
Result: The cable and connections
are good?
No:
Reconnect the cable, or replace as
required.
Yes:
Continue with Step 3.
3. Check the wire harness and
connections from the printer interface
PWB to the ink level sensor.
Result: The wire harness and
connections are good?
No:
Reconnect the wire harness, or
replace as required.
Yes:
Continue with Step 4.
4. Power on the unit.
Result: Power-on test reports ink-related problems?
No:
Problem corrected. End of Ink Level Sensor RAP.
Yes:
Replace the ink level sensor
(REP 2.1.11: Ink Level Sensor on page 4-14).
If this does not fix the problem, replace the main
circuit board (REP 5.1.2: Main Board on page 4-39).
