ADJ 2.4 Cam Alignment
Procedure
1.
Perform the following:
a.
REP 1.1: WorkCentre Cover on page 4-3
b.
c.
REP 2.1.5: Paper Feed Motor on page 4-8
2.
Remove the 100/35 tooth gear and toggle gear.
3.
Remove the bottom black gear.
Refer to Figure 4-53 for the following three steps.
4.
Locate the small white gear located at the
bottom center. This is the drive gear for the
shaft where the actuator cam is located.
5.
Located behind this gear on the printer frame,
at the 3 o'clock position, is a timing hole. The
white drive gear also has a timing hole.
6.
Rotate the drive gear in a clockwise direction
until these two holes are lined up together. Use
a scribe or some other similar tool to check that
the holes are aligned.
Refer to Figure 4-54 for the following 2 steps.
7.
The top black gear is the drive gear for the
paper cassette position cam. Verify that the
cam is fully seated into the drive gear. Locate
the timing hole in this gear.
8.
Using a scribe or some other tool, insert it into
the timing hole and rotate the gear to the 7
o'clock position to line up with the timing hole
in the printer frame.
9.
While both gears are properly aligned, reinstall
the black gear you previously removed.
10. Reinstall the toggle gear, 100/35 tooth gear and
paper feed motor/pump assembly.
11. Reinstall top covers, access cover and paper
cassette.
