After correct connection the minus poles of the batteries can be connected
again.
Important
Regularly check the cables and connections. Keep the connections clean
and replace damaged cables immediately.
After connection, the relay will immediately activate and, depending on the
measured values, switch on or off.
Start
assistance
function
The relay has an extra connection (pin 85) which can optionally be
connected to a signal. This allows you to manually choose to close the relay
briefly (30 sec.). This function lends itself perfectly as a start assistance. In
the event that the start battery has a too low energy level to start the
vehicle or vessel, one can manually add the second battery. Important: the
timer will only run if the signal disappears. Important: the timer only starts
when the signal has disappeared, so use a "momentary switch". When using
a "continuous switch" you can choose to keep the batteries in parallel for
longer than 30 seconds. The voltage offered may be between 10.5 ~
30Vdc.
IN
USE
Connection
conditions
The relay switches on when one of the two batteries is sufficiently high in
voltage because it is being charged: 13.2/26.4Vdc for 10 sec., Or 13.8/
27.6Vdc for 2 sec.
With a starter battery, that will normally be an alternator. When the starter
battery is sufficiently charged, the relay will close and the second connected
battery will be charged in parallel.
The same with the second (accessory) battery: it can be charged by a
battery charger or solar panel, for example. If the battery is sufficiently high
in voltage, the relay will also close and charge the starter battery.
Due to the bidirectional operation, both batteries are not only charged
through the alternator, but also through any charger on the accessory
battery.
