1
Install the battery (if a battery back-‐up unit) into the end of
the fixture. Remove the two screws and the battery
compartment cover using the provided tamper resistant
screw driver. Slide the battery into the fixture with the
wire leads and connector facing outwards.
2
Once the battery is fully inserted, connect the male and
female connectors together firmly and then dress the wires
and connectors inside the fixture. Use the provided
tamper resistance screwdriver to reinstall the battery cover
and two screws. Once the connector’s are mated the
fixture will illuminate (on battery back-‐up). If desired you
can mate the connectors after the fixture has been
securely mounted to the wall.
3
Identify the area to install the fixture. Make sure that the
sensor has an unobstructed view of the Stairwell and
doorway (if applicable). Use the provided template to
locate and level the mounting holes. Use a sharp tool to
push through the template and mark the wall.
4
Remove the template, and double check the level of the
drilling marks for the top holes… Then check the bottom
two holes. If the alignment is level, proceed to the next
step.
5
Select the appropriate mounting hardware based upon the
type of material you’ll be drilling into. It is recommended
to make the initial holes with a small pilot hole to help
keep the larger drill bit from wondering.
6
Once the four pilot holes are drilled, drill the actual hole
size needed for your selected hardware. NOTE: There is
not enough room between the bracket and the back of the
fixture to use Tapcon screws with a socket head. If using
Tapcons, use countersunk heads. Standard Nylon anchors
and screws work fine.
