UR86EL Remote blinks off.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for each button you want to learn.
8. When you’ve finished learning all the keys, press SETUP.
Note:
Make sure you have fresh batteries in both remotes before learning. Take care not to move either
remote while pressing the buttons. Experiment with the distance between the remotes if you have a
problem learning. Some remotes do not have their LED in the centre so you might need to experiment
with the side-to-side position of the remotes relative to each other. Do not sit directly under an
incandescent lamp while teaching the remote. In most cases you will hold the button on the remote you
are learning from until the LED goes out on the UR86EL Remote. In some cases however, you might find
that the LED on the UR86EL Remote doesn’t go out until you release the key on the remote you are
learning from. You cannot store any functions under the following keys: Learn, Setup, TV, VCR, CBL,
AUX, X10, the Mouse pad or its Left, Right, or Grab buttons. Although up to 150 buttons can be learned,
only one different remote type can be stored under any one Mode.

5. Controlling X10 Home Automation modules
The PC Remote allows you to control all electric appliances you have in your house. In addition to
transmitting infrared signals, which controls your TV, VCR, SAT, DVD and AUX, your remote is equipped
with a radio transmitter sending X10 signals, which will enable you to control lamps and electric
appliances from a distance.
Here are some examples that you can do with your PC Remote using Home Automation mode:
• Switch On/Off, Dim/Bright lights while you’re watching TV.
• Switch On the lights at night to frighten intruders when you detect something suspicious.
• Switch On your electric blanket before the film ends to have it warm when you go to sleep.
For controlling your lamps or appliances, you will need additional X10 Home Automation modules. The
modules are simply plugged into AC outlets with no additional wiring required.
5.1. Home Automation control commands
To switch On/Off an appliance plugged into an X10 Home Automation module:
Press the key (3),
then press the Unit Code of the Home Automation module on the key pad (11) and then press
CHAN+/-
