5. 12v Trigger In
You can connect the 12v trigger output of your preamp or source to the 12v trigger input of the SX-1000R for easy,
remote power up. When the unit is in standby via the remote trigger, the amplifier is on, but disabled. The current
draw in standby mode is less than 5W per channel. The trigger input will work from 5-15v, so there should be no
issues with voltage tolerance on source outputs rated for 12v.
6. XLR/RCA Switch
The XLR/RCA switch completely isolates the XLR input from the RCA input. This eliminates any possible combination
of signals should both inputs be connected simultaneously. Be sure to set the switch according to the type of
connection you are using.
Placement
The SX-1000R is built to provide years of trouble-free enjoyment. To maximize its life and your enjoyment, be sure to treat it
like you would any fine piece of quality equipment. Take care not to place it in areas where excessive dust, dirt, moisture or
other contaminants are present. A minimum of 4” of clearance should be observed around the top and sides to allow for
airflow. We recommend elevating it on an audio rack, shelf or amp stand instead of placing it directly on the floor.
Light Bar Brightness
The light bar brightness can be adjusted through a hole on the bottom of the chassis. Dim or brighten the light bar by using a
miniature flat head screwdriver and rotating the potentiometer inside. In this way, the light bar can be turned completely off if
desired.
Short Circuit/Over-Current Protection
Your SX-1000R has built-in current and thermal protection. Before any damage can be done by short circuit, over-current or
temperature, the amplifier will go into protect mode. If this happens, the output is immediately terminated. Should this occur,
power the amplifier off prior to troubleshooting. If the amplifier is abnormally warm/hot, let it cool before powering it back
on. If the amplifier is not beyond excessively warm, check all connections for possible shorts. If you can’t find any indication
of the problem, disconnect everything but the power cord and power it on. If the unit powers on but no sound is heard when
you connect it back to your system, the unit may need to be repaired. Contact your dealer or Wyred 4 Sound if this occurs.
“Break In” Period
Your new SX-1000R series amplifier will deliver outstanding performance right out of the box. However, optimal
performance will be realized after it reaches normal operating temperature. Further improvements will be heard once all of
the internal components have had a chance to “break in”. Experience has shown that the amplifier will realize its full potential
after being played ~300 hours.
