Universal Joint and Belt Covers
1. Remove the universal joint (2) from the pinion shaft.
2. Remove the left and right belt covers (1), (3).

Mower Blades (Center Blade and Outer Blades)
1. Unscrew the mower blade screw (4), and remove the spline boss
(3) for RC60-27BR, lock washer (5) for RC60-24BR, two cup
washers (2) and mower blade (1).
NOTE
■
• The mower blade screw has left-hand threads.
Turn it counterclockwise to loosen (A).
• Wedge a block of wood between the mower blade and
mower deck or use a box wrench over the pulley nut to
prevent the blade shaft from rotating while removing the
mower blade screw.
• The friction plate (6) adapts to center blade of RC60-24BR
only.
(When reassembling)
• Be sure to assemble two cup washers between the mower blade
and spline boss.
• Be sure to assemble the friction plate (6) that adapt to center
blade of RC60-24BR only.
IMPORTANT
■
• Make sure the cup washer is not flattened out or worn,
causing blade to slip easily.
Replace the cup washer if either is damaged.
