Your World Cat is equipped with two batteries. Two cracking batteries are installed in each side and the starboard
battery doubles as a “house” battery. To help maintain your batteries, a management system is installed on your boat.
This system is controlled by a panel similar to the one shown below. This panel enables you to engage or disconnect
the batteries, and parallel batteries in the event of a failure. Chapter 10 of this manual will provide details regarding
the location and wiring of your batteries and management panel.
6.5.1 Battery Distribution
The picture above illustrates the battery management panel. Your World Cat is equipped with a “Dual Circuit Battery
Switch” a “DC MAIN” breaker and four constant hot breakers. To operator turn the “Dual Circuit Battery Switch”
clockwise to the “On” position, this will power up both port & starboard batteries. If you experience low voltage in
one of the cracking batteries the “Dual Circuit Battery Switch” must be turned clockwise past the “On” postion to the
“COMBINED” position. This will then parallel both batteries to aid in cracking both engines. Once both engines are
cracked the “Dual Circuit Battery Switch” MUST be turned back to the “On” position. The “DC MAIN” breaker will
receive power only when the “Dual Circuit Battery Switch” is on the “On” or “COMBINED” position. The other
four breakers will remain consitant hot whether the “Dual Circuit Battery Switch” is in the “On” or “Off” position.
Per NMMA and USCG guidelines, these breakers are constantly energized to provide power for bilge pumps and
memory functions and a open Accessory. This helps to protect your vessel even when you are not available. Inspect
the breakers regularly, and push-in to reset. If a breaker trips constantly, have your dealer investigate the problem as
soon as possible to prevent damage to your boat.
