While the main collector assembly of the Shop Fox
®
W1666 Dust Collector is completed at the factory,
other components require assembly. The following is the recommended sequence best suited for final
assembly.
TOOLS REQUIRED:
You will need a Phillips
®
screw driver, 14mm and 10mm open end wrenches (sup-
plied).
Base
1.
Locate and place the base plate upside
down on the floor.
2.
Secure casters to base plate with fasteners
supplied.

3.
Turn base plate over.

Securing casters to base.
Do not connect the
dust collector to power
at this time. This
machine must remain
unplugged throughout
the entire assembly
process. Failure to do
this may result in seri-
ous personal injury.
The W1666 Dust Collector can be used as a
mobile or stationary unit. When used as a
mobile collector, flexible hose must be used.
Hard pipe, whether metal or plastic, may be
employed when dust collector is used as a sta-
tionary unit. However, all connections between
machines and ducting should have a short flexi-
ble joint. While casters are not necessary when
collector is setup for stationary use, anchoring
the base to the floor with concrete anchors or
lag bolts should be considered.
Do not secure dust collector to floor until it has
been completely assembled. The layout of your
shop, the suction requirements of each machine
and general duct efficiency must be considered
before installing your Shop Fox
®
Dust Collector.
For more information about dust collection sys-
tems, ask your local retailer about Woodstock
International’s Dust Collection Basics or check
your local library for more information.
Wear safety glasses dur-
ing the entire assembly
process. Failure to com-
ply may result in serious
personal injury.
