Warm engine:
Disengage the tensioner handle (by moving it away from you). A
warm engine usually does not require choke on.

Pull the engine starter cord slowly until you feel resistance, then pull the cord quickly to
start the engine.
Cold engine:
When the engine starts, slowly open the choke all the way by moving
the choke lever to the “OFF” position.

Engage the clutch handle by pulling the lever toward the push handle tube shown in
Fig.4-15
NOTE:
Let the engine idle for about 1-3 minutes (depending on
ambient temperature) to warm up before starting the sawing opera
-
tion.
ENGINE SHUTOFF

Disengage the tensioner handle (by moving it away from you) to stop the blade.

The engine should run with no load for 15 seconds. Stop the engine by moving the igni
-
tion/fuel lever to the ”OFF” position.
When stopping the engine, reduce the load slowly. Do not stop the
engine suddenly as it may cause the temperature to raise abnor
-
mally.
