Dolby MetaData
Touching the

button proceeds to the
Dolby MetaData Screen
.
This screen has three forms, depending upon which tab you touch. These forms are
shown in Figures 2-15, 2-16 and 2-17. Initially, when first touching the
Dolby
MetaData
button, the screen shown in Figure 2-15 appears.
Figure 2-15: Dolby MetaData Screen
Touching and moving the scroll bar at the right will let you review the list of Dolby
MetaData. Rotating the
Adjust B
knob will also let you scroll through the list.
Touch the
Back
button to return to the Dolby Zoom screen from which you came.
A wide range of Metadata is available, which can help you diagnose possible
problems. It will vary according to the type of Dolby signal. For example, for
checking Guard Band, the iAM-12G-SDI will display the Line Position of each Dolby
E bitstream of the Dolby signal. For Dolby ED2, two line positions will be displayed.
Also, the Dolby Metadata screen displays Dolby CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check)
Errors, which are automatically totaled. CRC Errors are an indication that the Dolby
signal is being disrupted, either by intermittent network issues, poor wiring, or
some other cause. Occasional errors probably cannot be heard, but this is a
diagnostic tool that lets you measure the extent of the problem, if any.
Touching the
Loudness
tab on the
Dolby MetaData Screen
will show a variety of
data related to the Loudness function. Figure 2-16 shows the
Dolby MetaData
Screen
with the
Loudness
tab selected.
