Removal

CAUTION

Injury Hazard: The weight

of the FLV is approximately

13 kg. Use the correct

equipment to lift and move

the FLV. This will prevent

injury to personnel.

1) Remove the 10 Allen screws (6,

Fig. 2

)

from the FLV (1).

2) Lift the FLV (1).
3) Remove and discard the lip seal (9).
4) Make sure that the dowel pins (7) stay in

the fuel rail.

5) Lower the FLV (1) on to an applicable

clean, dry surface.

Inspection

1) Remove the two bolts (4) and the

cover (5).

2) Remove and discard the O-ring (10).
3) Remove the 12 Allen screws (3).
4) Carefully remove flange (2) together

with the piston rod (11) and the

piston (12).

5) Use Scotch Brite

and a solvent e.g.

brake cleaner, Neoval

or WD40

clean the piston rod (11).

6) Remove the piston (12) together with

the piston rod (11) from the flange (2).

If you feel a light resistance, push the

piston and piston rod back and clean

the piston rod again.

7) Do an inspection of the running

surfaces (RS).

8) If you find damage, speak to or send a

message to Wärtsilä Services

Switzerland for replacement parts and

instructions.

9) If necessary, send the FLV to a Wärtsilä

Service Station for an overhaul.

10) Clean all parts and running

surfaces (RS).

11) Lubricate the running surfaces (RS).
