22) Disassemble the piston rod gland, refer
to 2303 − 1 .
3. Installation
1) Do a function check of the cylinder
lubricating system. Refer to 7218 − 1 .
2) Assemble the piston rod gland, refer to
2303 − 1 .
3) Make sure that the partition of the
gland box aligns with the the axis of the
M24 bores in the piston rod foot.
4) Make sure that the partition of the
clamp is 90 _ offset to the two bores (6,
Fig. 3 ) in the piston rod foot.
5) Put oil on the bore of the cylinder liner (1,
Fig. 4 ) and the surfaces of the insertion
cone (94342).
6) Put the insertion funnel (94342) in
position on the cylinder liner (3).
7) Make sure that the applicable crank is at
TDC.
8) Make sure the items that follow are
clean:
D The piston rod gland
D
The piston and the piston rings.
9) Make sure that the O-rings in the piston
rod gland are in a satisfactory
condition.
10) Put oil on the bore and the O-rings of
the piston rod gland.
11) Remove the cover plate (94345D,
Fig. 3 ) from the piston rod bore.
12) Attach the device (94341, Fig. 4 ) to the
piston crown (2) with the four bolts (1).
13) Torque the four bolts (1) to 80 Nm.
14) Make sure that the piston rod gland is
correctly installed on the piston rod.
15) Attach the engine room crane to the
device (94341).
16) Open the two parts of the device
(94350).
17) Operate the engine room crane to lift
the piston from the device (94350).
18) Make sure that the clamp (94345G,
Fig. 3 ) is 500 mm from the bottom of
the piston rod foot (2). Make sure that
the partition of the clamp halves is 90 _
offset to the two bores (6) in the piston
rod foot.
