Removing, Dismantling and Assembling (Variant 1)

2.1

Removing a Gland

1) Unscrew the four bolts (13) to support (11).
2) Remove the gland including the piston (see 3403

−

1 Removal of a piston).

CAUTION

Prevent any dirt from entering into the crankcase! Fit covering

(94345D) over the gland bore in the cylinder block and fasten it with

four screws to support (11).

Dismantling a Gland

1) Place the piston in piston supporting device (94350).
2) Mount assembly platform (94345H) under the gland and tighten bolts (19) with

32 Nm

(Fig. 3).

3) Loosen and remove screws (16, fitted bolts 17) to housing (1).
4) Push the two housing halves away from the piston rod.
5) Remove all tension springs, scraper rings, sealing rings and ring supports.
6) On the following parts wear has to be measured (see Fig. 4):

Scraper rings

2 and 6

Sealing rings

3 and 4

The admissible wear on the wearing parts is indicated in Clearance Table 0330

Piston rod gland. Parts which are beyond the admissible tolerance must be

replaced.

If necessary remove scraper rings (6) from ring supports (5) and replace them with

new ones.

D

Defective tension springs (9 and 10) and O-rings (22) have to be replaced with new

ones.
