Operation and Maintenance of 1WPS Compact Pressure Switch
Mounting
•
The operator must ensure that the proper connections are made
•
The connections must be clean and free of debris
•
Use Teflon tape around the pressure switch NPT or G process threads for a tight, leak free
seal
•
Use the wrench flats to tighten the pressure switch into the process connection, maximum
torque is 20 Nm
•
Utilizing the case or electrical outlet will damage the product
Electrical Connection
1.
Loosen the screw (1)
2.
Loosen the cable gland (2)
3.
Pull the electrical housing (5) and the terminal block (6) away from the switch
4.
Insert / slide the electrical cable through the cable gland (2), ring (3), seal (4) and housing (5)
5. Connect the cable ends to the terminal block (6) in accordance to the connection diagram
(next slide)
6. Press the housing (5) onto the terminal block (6)
7.
Make sure the seals are not damaged and that the cable gland and seals are correctly
seated to ensure the integrity of the IP rating
8.
Tighten the cable gland (2) around the cable
9.
Place the flat gasket (7) over the switch’s connection pins
10.
Push the housing (5) and the terminal block (6) onto the switch
11.
Tighten the housing screw (1)
Set-Point adjustment
•
The 1WPS is factory-set at the mid-point of the adjustment range
•
In order to change the pressure set-point setting, following these instructions
•
Insert an Allen Key (1.9mm, 3/40”) through the opening on the top centre of the
pressure switch
•
Turn the Allen Key clockwise to increase the pressure setting and counter-clockwise to
decrease the pressure setting
•
To best determine the set-point, it is recommended to have a reference gauge available
Additonal Information
Disassembly
•
Before disassembly, check that the system is no longer under pressure and there is no
electrical current / voltage flowing from the pressure switch
Maintenance
•
The 1WPS is relatively maintenance free
Storage
•
The 1WPS pressure switch should be kept in its original packaging until the time of installation
•
Storage temperature range is -20 deg C to 80 deg C / -4 deg F to 176 deg F
•
Protect the pressure switch from extreme humidity, dust and hot objects
Transportation
•
When transporting the 1WPS, provide an optimum amount of protective packaging around the product to protect the switch
from shock, vibration and sudden drops
WARNINGS:
•
Incorrect use of a pressure switch may cause damage to machinery and personal injury
•
Check the Series designation of the pressure switch to ensure it is being used within its design parameters
•
The user must ensure that the pressure switch is installed and used in accordance with these instructions
NOTE:
To avoid cross-contamination, only re-use the pressure switch if the process media is
the same
