CMOS Storage Locations

The PCM-VDX-2-512’s BIOS configuration is stored in three (3) locations:

(1) CMOS RAM (nonvolatile if battery backed)
(2) FLASH PROM (nonvolatile storage for factory defaults)
(3) Internal Flash (for custom settings)

Saving the CMOS Configuration

The Real-Time Clock and the CMOS RAM settings can be maintained by an optional battery when the board is powered
off. When the external battery is used, simply disconnect the battery from

for 20 seconds. When an optional on-board

battery is used, it can be enabled or disabled at

. A battery is always required to maintain time and date functions when

the board is powered off.
