Tighten the Chip Box
Power Cord by slowly
rotating the fitting on the
end of the power cord in a
clockwise motion.

CAUTION:
Burn Hazard
Exposed Heating Element can cause injury.
Be
sure the unit is turned off before loading the Chip
Box. Allow the Chip Box to cool for 30 minutes before
loading additional chips.
NEVER
add additional chips
while the unit is in operation.

attempt
to cool the exposed heating element inside the Chip Box
with water. Doing so could cause serious injury or death.

Place dry or water soaked chips into the Chip Box
covering the heating element completely.
NEVER
pour water directly into the Chip Box.

Chip Box will be hot to the touch
during operation. Use caution when handling the
Chip Box to prevent potential burns.

2.
Plug the Chip Box Power Cord into the Power Box
and tighten (
Figure 1
).
3.
Plug the Power Box into a 120 volt, 15 amp
dedicated circuit.
4.
Place the Chip Box on a sheet pan and insert the
pan into the bottom of your oven (Chip Box
Power Cord will hang outside the door during
operation).

. Use the Timer Dial on the Power Box to select the
desired amount of smoking time (in hours). The
green LED Indicator will light up indicating the
smoking process has begun.
6.
The Chip Box should begin smoking within 10 - 15
minutes.

When the timer expires the Chip Box may be
removed from the oven and
MUST
be allowed to
cool for at least 30 minutes before use.

Do not attempt
to service this equipment unless you are a licensed
electrician or trained servicer.

If an electrical shock is felt when touching equipment,
shut off power immediately (either pull power cord or
turn off circuit breaker) and call a trained servicer for
repair. Failure to do so could result in serious, potentially
fatal injuries.
ALWAYS
unplug the equipment when it is
not in use.
FLAVOR TRANSFER NOTE
: Some residual smoke
flavor/aroma is to be expected following usage of the
Winston Smoker Box.
