PROCEDURE

For bearing No #1 prepare the bearing cover as follows:

1.1

Remove the cover (001,

Figure 6-2

) and the holder.

1.2

Remove the related oil pipe.

For bearing No #2 to N prepare the bearing cover as follows:

2.1

Get access to the bearing cover.

2.2

Remove the flange.

Do a check of the bearing clearance, refer to section

3.3 Clearances - general

Remove the round nuts (004), refer to section

4.3 Loosen a round nut with a pre-

tensioner

Attach the lug (001,

Figure 6-3

) to the bearing cover (002).

Make sure that the thrust device (004) is clean.

Install the lifting plate (005) to the transport position.

Use the lifting plate (005) to move and install the thrust device (004) in position on the
bearing cover (002).

Install the lifting plate (005) back to the stowage position as shown.

NOTE:

Do not use the lifting plate (005) and thus the thrust device (004) to lift the
bearing cover.

Apply copper paste to the thread and the surface of the screw (008).

Open the vent screw (007) and make sure that the piston (006) is fully engaged.

Make sure that the tappet (008) and the piston (006) fully engage with the cutouts in the
bearing cover (002).
